Publish on Xiaomi GetApps

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones come with GetApps, Xiaomi's own app store. Publish your Android app there under your own developer account: it's the same Android app as on Google Play. You submit the first version yourself; on the Pro and Business plans we upload every version after that.

Before you start
  • A Xiaomi account, and a developer account on the Xiaomi developer platform
  • Your Android app (.apk) from Builds & downloads
  • Your store assets: icon (512 × 512), screenshots and the listing texts
  • A privacy policy page on your website, or anywhere public
  1. 1

    Create your developer account

Register as a developer on the Xiaomi developer platform (dev.mi.com) with your Xiaomi account, as a company or as an individual, and complete Xiaomi's identity check. Xiaomi also has an international developer site for GetApps (global.developer.mi.com).

  2. 2

Add your app and submit the first version

Create your app with your app's package name (from your Store listing step) and upload the .apk file from Builds & downloads. Xiaomi may ask you to show that the app is yours: follow the steps it gives, and contact us if it asks for a file signed with your app's key.

Upload the .apk, not the App Bundle. The .apk is signed with your app's upload key, the same key every later version uses.

  3. 3

Fill in the listing and submit

Add the description, icon, screenshots, your privacy policy link and the age rating, then submit. Xiaomi reviews the app, usually within a few working days.

Give the reviewers your review phone number and fixed code in the notes for the review: from the dashboard's App sign-in page, or, for apps on WordPress or their own API, the Store review account on Publishing (required before a build).

Pro and Business: let us upload every update

Once your app is on GetApps, open the automatic publishing API page from the developer platform's app management. Copy the private key it shows and download Xiaomi's public certificate. Then open Publishing › More Android stores in your dashboard and enter them with the email you sign in with. You can also write what's new; Xiaomi shows it with the update. From then on, every build you start is uploaded to Xiaomi GetApps and sent for review.

If your developer account has no automatic publishing page, uploads stay by hand: download the .apk from Builds & downloads and submit it as a new version.

Xiaomi sends each upload straight to review, with your app's icon. Resetting the private key in Xiaomi's console stops the old one working: enter the new one in your dashboard.
